Sick Sick Sick

Last Wednesday I got pharyngitis :(
So I went home for Easter weekend 2 days early... I spent Wednesday-Friday sick at home and then Saturday and Sunday enjoying spending time with family.
I always enjoy going home, it is usualy relaxing and I love seeing my little 6 year old sister! [and my 2 other sisters too ha ha]
[*Note: I left my camera at home so my only pictures are from my camera]

I miss her terribly when I am away at school! I swear, each time I get home she is bigger!

Her little face with my big sunglasses! This is the current background on my phone!

So while I was laying in bed sick I did a lot of reading. I finished Catcher in the Rye and I also read the last three issues of Good Housekeeping. So I know that I am still in college but I absolutely love reading magazines like Good Housekeeping and Family Circle. I guess it's my inner housewife/mothering instincts!
Anyways, in an article it showed a recipie/picture for a delicious looking dessert! So that night my mom and I tweaked the recipie a little and made a layered strawberry shortcake!

On the bottom layer is angle food cake, then a layer of a whipped cream/vanilla pudding mixture, then a layer of strawberries!

It turned out amazing! And it was the PERFECT spring desert!

Cleaning Your Coffee Maker

I cleaned my coffee maker last night and I thought I should share the process with those who may not know it!

Cleaning your coffee maker is the key way to keep your coffee pot from gathering stains as well as internal impurities. Cleaning it once a month is ideal.

Step 1: Make a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts cold water. You want to make sure you fill the entire pot.

Step 2: Put in a filter.

Step 3: Start the coffee maker and let it run all the way through. After it is done, shut it off and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Remove the filter and pour out the mixture.

Step 5: Fill the entire pot with water and repeat the process. You want to remove any trace of vinegar.

[Note: if this is the first time you have ever washed it, you may want to repeat steps 1 - 4 to grantee a through cleaning!]

Rain, Rain Go Away...

It has been raining here ALL WEEK! Whenever I wear my rain jack hood up I always think of Jack Johnson's Brushfire Fairytales album cover!

So, I must have never used these muscles before in my ENTIRE life! I am still so sore that, even on day 2, it kills to walk... which proves a problem as walking is my main mode of transportaion around campus!

But I'm going to try and do the workout again!

Tomorrow is formal (!!) so I want to get in a workout before tomorrow...

I am wearing my classic LBD

with this necklace and earings I bought downtown earlier this week

here you can see what it looks like and bellow gives a better idea of the color!

I'm still iffy on what nail polish to wear...

Well now I need to finish this darn paper, work out, shower, and sleeeeeeep

Soooooooooo Sore!

I worked out in my room yesterday using video's on FitTV.com and wow... I can't move.

I might try some yoga today to try and stretch out my painfully sore muscles!

I really need to get into a routine. I feel like I waste too much of my free time...

"No one has eer seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." 1 John 4:6

This week love has been all around me. I have heard/read 3 things on love in the last 3 days. Not romantic love, but instead about loving those around you. It is crazy how perfect of a time this comes. I have felt lacking in this area for some time. I am quick to judge and gossip and I take offense so easily. Not to mention I have been hurt by those close to me and haven't been forgiving. I think the key to happiness is to love. Complete, unconditional, everlasting love towards everyone and everything! No matter who they are (the guy who needs a friend, the girl you can't stand, the family member who deserted you) they deserve your love. From love we find forgiveness and compassion and in those we find peace.

What-a-Weekend!

Fun but crazy weekend! I went out both Friday and Saturday night so when Sunday rolled around I slept like a baby!!

Saturday was parent's banquet so I got to see my lovely parents and was able to go grocery shopping! yay!

I am so excited that I have fresh fruit (strawberries and blueberries) and salad stuff (lettus and spinach) !!

This morning I woke up 2 hours early all on my own (aka no alarm clock)!! I was so happy! I was able to make myself some oatmeal w/ cranberries, 1/2 a banana, and almonds. I also made my Starbucks Breakfast Blend for the first time - so good!!

Then later I had a snack of my mini-bagel w/ whipped cream cheese and blueberry yogurt w/ fresh blueberries!

For lunch I had a turkey sandwhich with mustard and a salad with blueberries and almonds. I have never put blueberries in a salad before and I was pleasently surprised!

Not sure what I'm having for dinner yet but today I have been on a roll!

Right now I just need to find motivation to go to the gym... I have enough energy but apparently energy and motivation are 2 very different things.

Caffeine Junkie?

Venti Quad Shot Skinny Vanilla Latte. :)

It's been a wonderful day! I have a lot to say so I will be updating later!
